Ornament Making Workshop

December 12, 2023 4:30-6:00pm

Ages 4-10 years

During this fun-filled workshop, each child will have the opportunity to create and take home a variety of different Christmas ornaments. Other simple holiday inspired art experiences will also be available to enjoy for those who finish their ornaments early. This is a drop off event. Children may bring a water bottle. Please bring indoor shoes or be prepared to go in socks in wet weather.. Registration closes Sunday December 10 at end of day. Gingerbread Fun!

December 9, 2023 10:00-11:30am

Ages 4-8 years

Come out and celebrate this well loved Christmas treat!  Together we will read the story of The Gingerbread Man followed by art and sensory play inspired by all things gingerbread. Decorating individual gingerbread cookies to take home will complete the experience! This is a drop off event. Children may bring a water bottle. Please bring indoor shoes or be prepared to go in socks in wet weather.

Family Holiday Canvas Workshop

December 15, 2023 5:30-7:00pm

Registration includes 4 family members.

Get ready to get creative (and messy) with your loved ones. Each family will have their own large canvas and 4 small canvases to paint and create. A variety of paint and art materials inspired by the holiday season will be offered for free exploration. Experiment with various paint techniques and unique tools as you create your masterpiece together. Light snacks and water will be served during this event. Space will be limited to a maximum of 6 families. Please bring indoor shoes (that can get messy) or prepare to go in socks in wet weather. Registration will close on Wednesday December 13 at end of day. If you wish to register after this date, please email us for availability.

Ceramic Tile Painting Workshop

December 19, 2023 5:00-6:30pm

Ages 5-12 years

In search of a personalized, handmade gift or decorative piece for the holidays? This workshop is just right for you! During this evening event, each child will use their choice of acrylic paints to creatively customize 2 ceramic tiles. Other simple holiday inspired art experiences will be available for those who may finish their tiles early. This is a drop off workshop. Children can bring a water bottle. Please bring indoor shoes or prepare to go in socks in wet weather. Registration will close on Sunday December 17 at end of day. Boxing Day!

December 27, 2023 1:00-3:00pm

Ages 3-8 years

After the parcels have all arrived and the presents have been unwrapped, what do we do with all of the boxes? At the Art of Play Studio, we use them for our special Boxing Day event! Cardboard and boxes will be the focus of our artwork and creative explorations during this workshop. From painting to creating sculptures and everything in between, we will experiment to see how many inventive ways we can use cardboard in combination with other materials. Glue guns will be used. Feel free to bring any boxes and cardboard in good condition that you may have to add to our collection! This is a drop off program. Please bring a labeled water bottle, indoor shoes (or go in socks) and dress for messy play!

New Years Party!

December 29, 2023 5:00-7:00pm

All ages (babies under 1 are free)

Come celebrate the arrival of 2024 with us in a family-friendly way.  Connect with other families in the community as we celebrate the upcoming new year in The Art of Play Studio fashion. No fancy outfits needed at this party! Dress for mess as we explore and experiment with special creative experiences and materials. Music, dancing, party favours, snacks and a countdown to the new year will be included in the festivities. Please bring indoor shoes or prepare to go in socks in wet weather.
