Beyond the Studio

Our ‘Beyond the Studio’ program offers children a mini version of our popular camp program! Mornings will be spent exploring the forest (Brookbanks Park) and afternoons will be in the studio participating in hands on creative activities connected to our nature and forest morning adventures and experiences. Each day will include adventurous play, nature walks, loose parts play, creative art./sensory/science experiences, teamwork, and fun! Our philosophy will be followed, encouraging child led play, experimentation, problem solving, creativity, expression, community, collaboration, inquiry and joy!
Children will be dropped off at Brookbanks Park and picked up at the Studio. After approximately 2 hours in the forest , we will walk back to the studio for lunch and indoor activities. Once registered, families will receive the drop off location, registration form and the phone number of where our staff can be reached throughout the day.
The outdoor portion of the program will continue throughout the seasons and the weather that each one brings. We will continue outdoors in light rain or snow. In case of inclement weather (thunderstorms, high winds, extreme heat/cold, poor air quality, icy conditions or heavy snow) we will move the outdoor portion to the indoor studio, bringing nature and similiar experiences inside. If for any reason we need to change our outdoor location due to weather, safety or conditions, we will notify families ahead of time. We will monitor the weather conditions daily and message families by 9am on Saturday if there is a change in drop off location and we need to move indoors. Please make sure to check for messages before coming to the program.
This is a drop off program. Each child needs to bring a backpack with a labelled water bottle, a nut-free lunch and snacks and a full change of clothing. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray before coming. Dress for the weather each day so that your child can be comfortable and enjoy the day! Please note that there may be muddy or wet conditions depending on the weather/season and there is a ravine in the area where we will be. Water levels and speed in the ravine will be monitored for safety.
Children can register for a monthly session or single days. Monthly registrations will save $$$. There will be a maximum of 15 children and 2 staff for this program.
